An ongoing list of books for preschoolers

  • Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss- A really fun book with some absolutely WILD illustrations!

  • If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff- This book is silly and iconic… and it’s part of a whole series!

  • Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss- It’s long and hard to read, but oh, so fun!

  • Froggy Learns to Swim by Jonathan London- The whole series is great (my second favorite is Froggy Bakes a Cake), but this one includes the phrase “Bubble bubble, toot toot, chicken airplane soldier!”

  • Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss- Basically, if “What Does a Fox Say” were a children’s book!

  • Curious George by H. A. Ray- This book (and the rest of the series) is absolutely ICONIC!

  • Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons by James Dean and Eric Litwin- A really fun and rhythmic book to read!

The following books are ones my parents read to me as a kid that I still love to this day:

  • Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin

  • The Seals on the Bus by Lenny Hort

  • The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear by Don and Audrey Wood

  • Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman

  • Hey, Little Ant! by Phillip and Hannah Hoose
